Nov 02, 2023Β Β | Β Posted byΒ Shaili Neerbun: The first official function of the Indian Minister, Vellamvelly Muraleedharan, was the inauguration of the Utsav India Mauritius Shopping Carnival at the Swami Vivekananda International Convention Center in Pailles yesterday, November 1, 2023. This cultural fair marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mauritius and India. The Indian minister was to underline the foundation of the special relationship between our two countries, forged, he said, by Indian indentured workers who came to Mauritius to work in the sugar fields in 1834.
